in september i picked up a de from a 93' 626 for 350 bucks canadian, it had 300,000kms on it but was in surprisingly good shape

heres the rebuild so far, had the block cleaned and decked, new main and rod bearings, thrust washers, all standard size, new rings, front &rear seals, and oil pan... reused the rods and pistons....

thanks , I'll add alot more pics as i finish it, im waiting for headers and cams to come... i'll be taking the heads in for a clean/valve job next week if all goes well

basically it will be a complete rebuild, port & polish, headers and kl-31 cams.... i might get an msd and the battery is going to the trunk..... thats about it, i already have a brand new clutch from the atx to mtx conv.

Id suggest getting some millenia heads, and IM.
Basically youd have a ZE with lower compression ratio (but Im sure u knew that :) )

Very nice!

BTW, a millenia manifold would be kinda pointless unless your heads were port matched.

yah thats true, it would also be alot of material to remove off the head

Port matching should be easy and not really removing a lot of material. I wouldn't think... we're not talking about porting the heads... just port matching.

Throw the gasket on the head and see how much material there is to be removed... I say maybe 1mm. Same goes with the manifolds.

I'm gonna be doing it to my head... I'll grab some pics when I get around to doing it.

Ive already done all my port work

A millenia manifold has square runners and putting that on 626 heads is the reason y there would be more porting because i'd have to make the oval ports square on the heads

im just using the short neck mani though

ps- about 1/8 came off the manifold

Done!

Put it together yesterday...... minus the egr because the pipe on the rear header has to be extended about 1.5 inches  stupid knockoffs

first off, heres a before- after.... thats the ugly lookin thing before the yard pulled it from the 626

i went with all black for some reason, all bad a-- and no bling :)

main bearings
rod bearings
thrust washers
piston rings
oil pump
front main seal
rear main seal
head gaskets
valve seals
head bolts
thermostat
cam seals
water pump
timing belt
idler pulleys
timing tensioners
IM gaskets
iac gasket
spark plugs
pcv valve
