Would it be a good thing to remove the vics shutters out of the intake while running boost?? Being that having a bigger plenum intake is better for turbo i think it would make sense!!

Generla census sais, yes remove the VCIS/VRIS when boosting. Just take the silinoids and valves out of the intake.

I would leave it in. Honestly it is awesome to have it still hooked up. It is just your preference though. I love when it kicks in and you get that extra boost.... I made a guy wet his pants cause he thought the power from 3000-5000 was cool. At 5200 the Vics kicks in and oh man does the car pull hard to 7400....

I thought somebody did research and found that tying one open was the best under boost... but I can find the link....

lol, ya cause they hinder some HP and create more torque. Next time I go to the Dyno I will do a run with and without it active.

hey can you (if you have time) try a few pulls with like one open and one still connected to the system, both tied open..... just to see if my be there is a magic combo of super torque + horsepower...

They are all connected on the same actuator rod. it would require taking the mani apart and removing one. but on the other hand it would also cause one cylinder to run leaner than the rest. it wouldent be a good idea. its either all or none.
honestly i liked it better with the vics than without. mine are always open now, but it felt more powerfull with them functional. because you have a pause before the major power kicked in. without them it just goes when you step on it. but with them you feel a little boost kick in then as soon as they open up it throws ya back in the seat.

rmcg5 is the guys name. And according to his sig he has a V6. He was talking about disconnecting one of the virs (I think thats the system on the V6??) and having the other one still on.

yes I have a v6... so I guess we are talking about 2 different things.... on my engine I have 2 vris flapper thingys on my intake manifold..... supposedly they are used to tune the engine for high rpm and low rpm...... something about longer runners are better for on and shorter runners are better for another..... but anyways it looks like that mystery still needs to be solved.....

This system on the four cylinders are vac actuated. They do not let the system open under boost anyways...

yah, they open at 4500 RMP reguardless of boost or not

ya they are controlled with an electronic Serlinoid (or however u spell it...), disconnect the plug and the vics are always open.
