Got my Colt Cams Turbo cams yesterday, they look nice, i compared them to my KL31 Cams and the peaks seem a little steeper (if that makes sense).

Anyhoo...another step closer.

Alright Eric. :2thumbsup:
One of these days you're going to have to put it all together. I want to be there when you fire it up on the stand.

Well your not far wrong on that, the "D" part.

Eric, can you quote the cam spec's for this poor misguided
gentleman above, ie Lift, Duration, and open/closing.

based on those specs.... I have to ask, what are you gaining?
10 deg duration @ .050 and .005 lift -INTAKE ONLY is what it looks like to me. Are you sure can that be seen with the naked eye?
I know a little duration goes a long way, but I was always under the impression that on a boosted application, the exhaust lift is the most important spec. To get the old charge out of there faster and have more exhaust velocity, IIRC.

I am not flaming them in any way. On paper it seems to me like
more boost (if possible) would be a more effective solution.
Granted, I am coming from the 2-valve turbo with a SOHC world...

How much were these cams?

the position of the exhaust changed on the exhaust cams.
That's what Geoff (colt cams) said to me, that ze cams are not suitable for best performance on a turbo engine.

yea that's what I was kinda figuring - profile change and event change. It's good that these are mild as well. I guess I would love to see the cam card and compare it to the ZE cam. One day I'll get out the degree-ing set and try to degree in the KL03 cams and see where the events on there fall.

Anybody know of a degree wheel that will work on the KLs?

Answer from Geoff:
"We have increased the duration by 12° @ .050 per lobe. On a 2 valve engine this might not be that noticable.
People have stated that the J.Spec with only 20° more duation plus .015 Lift gives a noticable increase.
So the 12° X 2 is good. If I thought the 218° grind was more streetable I would push that."

Hope that helps =)
