Leave the old MX3 harness in. It's essentially the same, and all the plugs are direct fit (if you got the right years ECU). No hacking or soldering needed. If you have a 92 or 93 MX3 V6, but got a 94+ engine, you'll have one extra water temp sensor plug left over. Everything else should have a place to plug in.

You will either have to extend the knock sensor connector, or move it from the tranny side to the timing belt side.
My '95 KL-DE came with one less temp sensor. I just left the harness connector unplugged, and haven't had any problems so far.

Yea a couple other things to check out too. The knock sensor like macen said, but I also had to extend another plug on the back, I forget which(maybe for a VRIS or the EGR) the other things are check the tranny sensors. I had to transfer all the ones off my k8 tranny to the probe tranny. Also check the power steering hookup. I had to swap switches there too. The oil light may come on if u have a 94 or 93 DE because they are diff oil pressure sending units. The only way to turn off that light is to cut the wire behind the gauge and instal a custom oil pressure gauge. I think that should cover ya. Good Luck and enjoy the ride once its done.

Or you could just put the right sensor for an MX3 in. Why you gotta come up with the hardest solution for a two second fix?

will that seriously work? I looked at it and its a totally different looking unit. I'm afraid to mess with it because the probe replacement one is 95$. Its not a simple dummy light so to speak, it sends an actual pressure to the instrument cluster in the probe which makes a diff voltage n sets off the mx3 cluster. If your sure an mx3 pressure sending unit will fit Ill give it a shot though. I still havnt installed the Autometer Cobalt series gauge I got so ill have to give the mx3 unit a shot before I do that install.

I don't know how many times I've said this. Maybe it bears repeating once every day. THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE ON THE EXTERIOR OF ANY K SERIES SHORT BLOCK.

This is stupid of me to ask...but I have a 94 GS I want to "DE" but unsure what year cars and what specific cars to get the motor from. And will I have any problems with a motor older than my car? PM me please.
