just seeing if there would be people interested in having there valve cover painted to look like real carbon fiber

hmm.. just curious how do you paint something to look like carbon fiber? lol

I have seen Chip Fooose on OVERHAULIN paint a auto part gray and then lay thin string running vertical and horizontal over it and paint it over with black ....remove the strings and then you have painted look Carbon Fiber

the same way they paint trim parts to look like carbon fiber or real wood

so realy you could do any piece under the hood that dosnt qet to hot for paint.

me too, but problem is that theyll probably make it fiberglass underneath...fiberglass and heat from engine wont work together

Actually fiberglass will take heat VERY well Mitmax. That is why they use it in almost any heat barrier situation. I know that it is usually without the resin, but that does not effect its heat handeling properties any.

100% Carbon Fiber valve covers would be really cool, but they would probaly cost an arm and a leg.

Probably couldnt take the heat though.

why couldnt real carbon fiber take the heat custommx3? they got real carbon fiber valve covers already for other cars. someone sholud try to mold real ones from a valve cover and show us how u did it and how it turned out cuz id be interested in that

I agree, it could be done. But for our car the price would probaly be retarded, for example a while back somone tried to start a group buy for Carbon Fiber hatch covers made by Budyclub? And buddy club said something like $290US not including shipping. This is just an example of course. Maybe they wouldnt be to exspensive but i bet they wouldn't be very cheap.

TRUE carbon fiber maybe, fiberglass with CF covering, most likley not (unless it was some expensive heat resistant FG/resin, and I'd assume it wasnt cheap).
But for the price fo true all CF VC, I wont be in that GB, it will be too expensive. I'd never spend more than $100 for a VC, and Im sure it would cost much more.

ehh imo painted or stickered carbon fiber "look" just doesnt come close to the coolness of CF. i've seen some CF "covers" on a few other cars.. that could be an idea not a replacement valve cover, but engine covers like new cars have, but made of CF... so u pop the hood and all u see is carbon fiber

yea like that big cover on the vq35 (350z,g35) u can get that in cf and thatd look sweet! if someone made those for r cars id definitely be in
