Custommx3 - 1992 MX-3 GS
Worklog example.
History:
I purchased this GS as a project car in the summer of 2004 as a replacement for a totalled Project GS (long story)
The engine ment for the 1st project GS was installed into this one, and ended up having bad piston rings.
PIcs from that swap are here...

Mike (ZOSO124) as a wedding gift decided to build me a ZE shortblock since Ive been having a streak of bad luck with my Project GS(s)
After going through 2 blocks and 3 sets of heads we ended up using a Millenia block and Millenia heads. Mike used a rebuild kit and a set of ZE pistons. I purchased a millena intake manifold and a set of ZE cams.
As it arrived
Deciding a color scheme as a bit of a pin but I decided on the black/silver look for the engine bay. (more of a stock look)
Ive painted just about every visible bolt/screw/washer.
As it sits to date.
(I still have to paint the rear valve cover, but I needed to get the one off of the KF-Ze which was removed last night)

My neighbor and I pulled the engine out last night.
This is how she sits today...
Starting tonight I plan on cleaning, prepping, paining the bay.

Well, its been a long month of detail work. And still ALOT more to do.
Id like to see more worklogs. I think its a cool idea. It gives others a chance to see what everyone is doing, gives them tips, ideas, ect.
Now if I can get my wife to understand...
Nice job, super clean engine! Too bad you didnt clean the tranny though.. it ruins the whole thing!
And those rubber gloves are the best!

Really nice ! That's what i was planning to do too after visiting JDM engines shop at Montreal, Canada. Engines aren't at the level they should be for me. Having a 210 000 km KL-ZE or a 150 000 km K8 (Perfectly strong, like brand new) ? For me the choice is clear: Keep your K8 instead of having a so much worn KL-ZE.
So the solution (long term project, the K8 is like new anyway): Buy a 1993-2002 KL engine, and rebuild it with brand new 10:1 pistons, KL31-1A1 & KL31-101 heads and all the stuff !
Nice project !
