Ok, i think its a power problem, but i wanta make sure... Im thinkin my altinator is too small to power the car while subs are on pretty loud b/c with hard hittin sub songs, if i turn it up too loud, the car's rpms will actually drop when the subs hit, then come back up and drop again.. guessin i need a bigger altinator ? a bigger amp would prob help too tho im guessin

I've heard of many people having to upgrade alternators on the mx3 just for stock purposes. I have the same problem you describe. When my bass hits my voltometer drops between 13.9-13.1 volts. When it's a real hard bass that is sustained, the rpms drop below 500 sometimes. Your rpms drop cause you alternator is trying so hard to keep the system charged that it imposes a load strong enough to nearly stall the car. To rectify my problem I am going to have my alternator rebuilt to double the output. You MIGHT try a capacitor, although I've never understood how it's supposed to help. I have one I haven't wired in yet. I'll post my findings if I ever do.

Getting a bigger amp will NOT solve your problem, it actually might make it worse.
