I may be down to Whitby for the Team Slipstream meet on Thursday and you can see my J-Spec headlights and I'll go over with you the inability to retro even those ones to HID.

Japaneese headlights are the same as ours besides the headlight type.

Pointess mod.

Euro headlights are glass though. IF you get tons of $$ to spend, you can aquire some of those.

My J-Spec ones are not the same. My beam pattern for the most part is straight across with a fairly well defined cut-off line. And IMO, a much better pattern over the NA-Spec. The lense fluting is slightly different of course to achieve that particular pattern and as well illuminates the left hand shoulder as would be the case in any RHD vehicle. The reflective portion inside the J-Spec is also not the same as NA Spec lights. NA Spec lights have basically one large reflective lense inside that's 1-piece and headlight adjustment is achieved via the additional metal brackets that retain the headlight housing. J-Spec headlight's plastic shell bolts straight to the frame and the inside reflective portion on the other hand is a 2-piece construction where the inner most part is the section that moves when doing beam adjustments. Hence the need and desire of the EU and AU peeps for the NA-Spec headlight shells when doing projector mods to the OEM shells. BTW, my fluted lense is plastic, not glass and the unit utilizes an H4 bulb.
Hope this clears things up a bit (no pun intended).

Sorry, couldn't make the Team Slipstream meet this Thurs. Yes, I have J-Spec headlights, that I picked up from a BB member. If your considering in paying that much for J-Spec lights from AU then I would STRONGLY recommend you consider a better alternative and go to Tatsu's thread in new product development. You'll be able to get quality projector units for a cheaper price than the price you're quoting. These projector units will be head and shoulders above the J-Spec units or almost any unit including the civic retro-fits, IMO.
