if you want to be competitive, just slapping on parts will disqualify you from a LOT of auto-x classes.

first figure out what class you want to race in, then depending on the class, modify your car accordingly.

If you want to do H-Stock, you have little options in the suspension dept. You can do struts only...no springs or anything.

If you want STS, you can do strut/coilovers/swaybar/bushings/stb's and a couple more things.

exactly what Gro said, you have little options for suspenion to stay in your class.

Try buying some R compound tires if you really want a huge difference, also maybe swap your stock wheels for some leight weight ones, as long as they are stock size and width you shold be fine, adding a sway bar will not also bump you up depending on if its front or rear.

Honeslty just get some good tires work on your driving and just have fun for a bit until you get the hang of it. :P
