I was bored this weekend and....

Post by vozaday2000 »

I decided to install some tweeters in my car. Now i saw that there was enough room in the area where the side mirror sits and decided to modify it. Here are some pics.

I noticed the blacks clashed so here is a off colour pic:

never thought of that before ...I recently converted my manual door windows to power and was thinking of installing some tweeters in the holes of my door panels where the crank handle was located

Is that a crossover unit on your door panel? You can put them inside your door, there is room.

Did you modify with fiberglass? How dificult was it to do. I like the look and would like to add it to my ride once I fix the Master cylinder and resolve the hood issue with G-Force Customizing

well first i took out the inside mirror piece, then i made a cone shape out of construction paper. then i used the mat fiberglass and put a piece over to get the shap of the cone and to attach it to the inside mirror piece. then i laid a couple of lays of fiberglass until it seemed strong enough and was in the basic shape. then i sanded it and used bodyfiller to fill in all the nooks and crannys. I also used the body filler to improve on the shape. then i sanded the bodyfiller down and primed it with the walmart emanul primer and then painted it with the emanul spray paint. here is a pic of it after the bodyfill and fiberglass, as you can tell it is mostly covered with bodyfill (I found it easier to sand).

Nice work. Seen it done lots of times. Its a perfrect spot for tweets. Im sure you can mount the crossovers inside the door, that will look a ton better than being visible.
