Hi.

My girlfriend has a '93 Mx-3 1.6 SOCH auto, with a new rebuilt auto transmission and a good cooler for it.

I think that the car needs more power, and I've found an BPturbo from a 323 GT-R and I was wondering if it could fit my MX-3 with the auto trans, and if the trans would support the power.

Or may be better fit a 1.6 B6turbo engine with also the auto trans.

I dont want to change to manual trans.

What are your comments and suggestions?.

Thanks in advance.
Alex.

The ATX can BARELY handle the power of the SOHC. It would simply explode if subjected to the power of a GT-R motor.

if you did anything, i would only run a N/A BP.

with my 1.6L turbo i blew all the clutches in my trans in about two blocks, it had a lock up torque converter so i was able to drive it for a little while. definatly wont hold up.

But auto trans was also in MX-3 v6, so it can handle more or less the same power that a B6 turbo??

the V6 trans will not bolt up to a 4 cyl.

Seems like the only way to get more power in your grilfriends mx-3 is switching to manual transmission. But that isn't so bad if you aks me

Tell her to learn to drive a standard.. shell NEVER go back to an auto. With a standard you are actually a main part of the car and have more control over whats happening.. Unlike an auto where you could make it drive itself with a bunji cord and a brick.

Just ask anyone you know who drives a standard if they would rather an auto. Everyone who drives a standard loves it. Automatics are for old people with a broken leg.

She can just go to an empty parking lot with the car and in about 2 hours of messing with it shell learn to drive standard pretty fast.. Everything Ive ever owned has been a standard and I dont even realize that I am driving one anymore.. You dont even think about it after a while.. it just happens. It might has well be an auto. :P

I prefer manual transmission (I have it on my 3000GT VR4), but she wanted an auto mx3 (difficult to faind on Spain; I went to Germany to buy it). The car runs great, but the problem is that the car would need a little more power.

Thanks for your answers.
Regards.
