Stereo Makes a humming noise each time i accelerate

Can somebody please advice where and how I sort out my stereo which makes a really irratating humming noise each time i accelerate it also gets higher in pitch!!!!!! driving me mad! somebody please help me get rid of this!! THANKS :D

1. check your grounding. most likely bad grounding that causes this.
2. if you have an external amp. check the gain level and adjust it down until you cant hear any humming.

Hello, thanks for the reply. Ok sounds like a good plan, but this may sound a it blonde but which earth do i check? behind stereo or in the engine bay???? also i do not have an amp.

The one to the stereo.

Theres also a good idea to ground the engine better also, as the stock grounding is pretty bad.

could be the power wire you used.

This is caused by a ground loop

on a side note you can also pick up a ground loop isolator at the following places:


USA: Radioshack

i had the same problem with the humming its the grounding you have to get a thing for the rca inputs
