hi all... my 1994 mazda eunos presso v6 manual has a few issues.
firstly is the idle speed.
the car idles at around 250rpm, i have changed it and it drops back down again after a while. does anyone have any clues to what is happeing and how i could fix this problem, someone suggested that the power steering pump could be faulty as when i am turning the steering wheel the revs sometimes jumps a little to about 600rpm or so and also makes this noise, although this noise in the steering doesnt sound like the cv joints, its a really weird noise thats really hasrd to describe, its kinda sounds like if you are stretching a spring. thats probably the best way to describe it.

also the timing belt hasnt been replaced and its done 165000 kms.
would this be a factor causing the idle speed to be so low?

any help would be much appreciated!!!

thanks!

Okay, you need that timing belt changed Pronto,

Your idle problem is probably a leak in the Rubber Piping that goes to the Intake, its not uncommon for them to perish, especially after 10yrs+.

Silicon Sealant works we for the tubing, see if you can find any cracks etc.

Also I hate to say it but maybe try a serch on "Idle Problems"

When you adjust the idle you also need to make sure you jump the TEN and GND pins in the diagnostics box. If you don't, the ECU wll compensate for any adjustment you make without the jumper in.
