I'm asking the Vancouver people cause prices are different in different cities.
So is that a good deal?... since most of them go for at least $3000.
Plus I'm gonna swap out the engine, ecu, tranny, front axels, front hubs, switch over to rear discs... and anything else that can be traded. So how much does all that go for now-a-days at a wrecking yard in pieces?
I might even be adventurous and put all the stuff I took from my car back into the Escort so that it is still drivable... fun project. Downgrade the motor... haha!
So is that a good deal?... I'm gonna rebuild the BP engine so that's no problem.

Only you will decide whether it's a good price for you. After all the feedback from here your best and usually the deciding factor should always be to a professional and not us shady tree mechanics. Take it during your test drive to a very reliable mechanic (and not BUDDY washisname down on de corner). Tell him your intentions and to go over it with a fine tooth comb. Any deficiencies can be used as leverage towards negotiating a lower price. Well worth the 50 or 60 bucks or so. And if you do back away, you've only lost 50-60 bucks and not thousands. my 2 pennies

OKay so I got the whole car for $1000... talked him down to that.
Engine runs awesome, well so far. I had to drive it about 40km's home. Tranny the same.
The rest of the car.... well, it's a real beater.
Except for the big FORD symbol on the valve cover... if and when I do the swap, that has to go. Hahaha!
