*Phantom Grip LSD conversion ?

Post by bigtime »

Any body know about this product ?

http://www.mmrusa.com/phantom1.htm

Is it a 1, 1.5 or 2 way ?
Doesn't a 2 way LSD give big understeer on a FWD ?

Its neither.

1-way means it works when accelerating only

2-way means it works when decel and accel.

the phantom grip basically makes your open differential a locked-differential which is NOT a limited slip. The only real difference is it won't be locked 100% of the time. Like if you were driving on snow and one whee is on asphalt and the other is on ice, the one on ice would spin as if you had nothing installed,

but when acceling in a straight line it can be semi-useful to help both wheels hook up ASSUMING both wheels are under asphalt or have traction.

I've only heard good things about phantom grips from dodge neon guys. No one I know who has one installed in their Mazda said it helped whatsoever, but maybe the neon-design works well compared to our car

mines working good with the ze, not that i race or anything but the car pulls stright now instead of off to one side, got the "upgrade springs" in it as well, talk about a huge difference in spring rate.
