Instead of double posting, I figured I'd just like it to the original thread:

Would have liked to have shared this in person with everyone at the MX-WEST meet, but I couldnt make it out there this year.

Thanks, Kev! It was a loooong time in the making. About 2yrs! Been slowly collecting the parts from here and there. Then a few months ago I finally decided to buckle down and get it done.

The main objective was to regain the trunk space in my car. I havent had a spare tire for the longest time anyways. Just a big honkin' subwoofer box taking up half the trunk! :S

Now I have the space back, plus the new sub pounds so much better, and I've got a separate amp controlling all the component speakers now.

But the best part is that no fibreglass was used! It just seems so messy to me, and I wasnt prepared to get into that situation. So I lined the spare tire well with dynamat, and then I put soundproofing foam around the edges of it. When the false floor comes down, it compresses the foam, and basically seals off the spare tire well. Bass is loud and tight!
