Problems With Mechanics in London England

I am really grateful to those members who tried to help me with my MX-3 problems....thanks. I think the problem is gonna be easy for the techies on this site but Im a mechanomoron......so the story.......
I take my1994 Mx-3 V6 to a mechanic who serviced the car twice and replaced timing belt. He tells me it has oil in the front rocker and pulls out the HT lead and sure enough there is oil there. He tells me it needs a new front gasket, HT leads , plugs and air filter . I immediately book it in for the work.
I get new HT leads, new plugs, new gasket , new air filter, new oil filter and oilchange of 10-40.
I pick it up and he says its runniing "sweet"...I pay him £300 . I walk round the corner and start her up and she starts misfiring as soon as I pull away ...I drive it in a one way system so can't turn around but manage to return in 10 minutes. THE CAR IS STUTTERING ALL THE WAY.
He takes it back for 15 minutes...apologises that he didn't replace an HT lead securely. The car starts off nicely and is silky smooth above 3000 rpms. Then it starts to cough from 1100 to 2000 rpms. I take it back 2 days later....he says he made a small adjustment and it seems fine. Then the whole problem starts again...
Well I have taken it back 3 times and he hasn't sorted out the problem he created. The car was running well untill he undertook the work he recommended.
What can I do? he wants to see the car for 4th time tomorrow and I just don't have confidence in this guy.
Is there any one who may have a good idea what it could be given my brief description? I thought it might be that the gasket is not installed correctly? I can't see any oil on the HT leads .
Would really like some advice because its not arcing and the plugs seem ok.
I love this little car and have nurtured it for 9 years!!!
Can anyone make a diagnosis? Im really worried I am going to damage the car engine if I don't sort it out soon.
Thanks in advance for any help
