I got a MX-3 Presso, the temperature gauge seems to be faulty. it fluxuates hot and cold all the time. Where does the temp probe sit and how would i check if it is faulty. If someone has a wiring diagram would help alot. thanks. :?:

have you checked your thermostat? you should replace that first, your engine is probably actually fluctuating from hot to cold just like the guage says.

Yeah had the same thing happen on my last car. It's probably the thermo.

If its the same as on my previous car just follow the airbox hose to the TB and it will be right there. You will have to remove the air hose but you should be able to see it.

Umm.. no. It's connected to the coolant hose coming from the top of the radiator, driver's side (unless the Presso is different, which I doubt)

On the front part of http://www.mx-3.com is a link to "Online Shop Manual" under "Technical Info" on the left hand side. It is your friend. Make use of it.

yep it's located on the head...kinda below the disty (round thing with all the spark plug wires going to it. like the other guy said just follow the upper radiator hose and it will lead you right to it.

don't forget to buy the gasket too, and wait until the engine is cool or you will burn the crap out of yourself.

Did this fix your problem? Mine seemed to be doing the same thing, but now it is not going at all. Just sits there.
