Here's what a guy said about his MX-3 in a local forum I am on:
Sorry buddy I can claim that title. I had a 92 MX-3 that had as much as you could do to a MX-3. My old car had the RX7 MAF, Fuel Pump, and Injectors. Plus 323 water pump, Tranny, Turbo manifold with a t25. So I can hold the fast MX-3 in Cincy. Plus I was the first Mx-3 with complete body kit carbon fiber hood and the Austrial tails. The car only ran a 14.5 so your not going to get much out of it unless you have a complete built KLZE. I just was tired of destroying the tranny so much and sold everything. Wish I still had mine.
I've never heard of some of these mods, what do you guys think about them? Especially the Rx-7 MAF, why would you use that one? I want to raise a BS flag, but I am way too inexperienced to make that call...

Was he running a stock K8 with a T25?

Did I just say STOCK K8 with T25 in the same sentence? Man sometimes I wonder what I am smoking
But I think you know what I mean.

Judging by the parts he listed- he had a 4-cyl, not a v-6.
The RX-7 MAF (its really a VAF, but whatever) mod is common and a good upgrade for more HP in the upper RPM range.
No need to call BS.

but why would he keep blowing his tranny it's not like he was putting out major HP...specially if he was running 14.5s

because the stock RS tranny isnt very strong and he was far from everything you can do, BPT would be a bigger step in power

Ah...where as I take it the GS tranny is stronger than the RS?

more so it seems, but you can't swap GS and RS trannys, they're incompatible
Sorry buddy I can claim that title.
What kind of title is he claiming?
I don't know what's he's talking about tho, he doesn't make sence, a BPT has way more potential than a KLZE, but even a ZE can hit low-14's (except for mine, god knows why) with basic bolt-ons. I'm guessing he had an RS, considering with the 323 parts and Rx-7 VAF, those sound like 4cyl mods to me.

ya definatly 4 cylinder...unless he managed to make a 4 cylinder turbo manifold to a 6 cylinder engine lol. i dont have a clue what he's talking about though.

RX-7 Vafs are usually seen on 4 bangers cause they flow more air than the stock one you guys get. When turboing air flow is pretty important, so that was a good cheap mod. As for 4 banger trannies, the RSs stock tranny is crap. One of our MOCA members used to have the DOHC and blew 2-3 trannies on the stock 115 HP. He has since upgraded to a G series from a Escort GT and a BPT with 250 WHP and so far so good. The F series trannies are much weaker than the G series.
I'd say he could easily be legit.

OK, I'll show my RS 4cyl ignorance and say slow ET's - turbo lag maybe.
OK, you can laugh now.
