sloppy shifter handle 5spd. manual?

I noticed that the shifter on my 5 speed manual transmission has a lot of pay in it. Any idea what would be worn out causing so much play? I wanted to install a short throw shifter what would I need to eliminate all that play.

you need new shifter bushings. Get the bronzoil shifter bushings on srdperformance.com and make sure you can use them with the short shifter you get.

also get the shift extension rod brushing.. makes for some nice tight shifts. I have the bronzoil brushing, the extension rod brushing and a B&M shifter and the car is SO much more fun to drive.
