The methods- By hand first grab a high quality "white" terry cloth towel. I tell you white because any colored towel could bleed color. Vacuum the headliner making certain the surface is clear of all surface soil. Next apply the APC cleaner to your towel, not the headliner! Lightly scrub the spot in both circular motions and back and forth. Turn the towel often to make certain you are not re-soiling the area. You may need to repeat this step several times until the spot is gone. Repeating this step on the entire headliner may be needed due in part to the fact that you may now have one clean spot and the rest of the headliner will remain soiled

i cut this from a detailing web site, so i would suggest changing the APC cleaner to some type of mild soap & water

I use Armour All "Ultimate Clean". I've usedit several times now with no ill effects. I'm a smoker, have had red clay on the headliner (and if you have never had to try and clean GA. red clay off something then you don't know how bad it is, but it's nearly impossible to clean) and have had a leak in the sunroof, it took out 95% of all the dirt etc. You can also use it to clean the rest of your interior while you are at it. Use a old tooth brush, a new one will be too stiff, and apply an small amount to the headliner and then scrub. Blot clean with a clean cotton towel or paper towel. Works wonders

Thanks Pat. I'll go to CND Tire and see if they have that product. I want to clean the whole thing.
