Can KLDE internals work on the K8

Infact, I am wondering, why does everyone here swap there K8s out?
Isnt there anything that can be done to make them fast?

Can they even handle a turbo?

Anyway, I am just wondering, is there a way to put say, KLDE pistons/rods, cam, camshafts or heads in the K8?
Infact, is there anyway, to bring the K8 to atleast 170hp/tq without forced induction?

If you put KLZE cams, KLDE rods and crank, Millenia intake manifold, PAcesetter headers ..... I'm sure you could get 170 crank HP. You can't put KL pistons in because the bore is different. Heads will likely be too wide of valve spacing. But everything else you can swap.

after swaping all those parts would the 1.8 still smog?

On this topic somewhat still, I searched but with no luck.

Does anyone have the rod measurements (length, rod big end, etc) of the K8? Thanks
94 Mazda MX3 GS - 395 whp 397 ft lbs untuned on pump gas and stock KLDE 15 psi boost. now running 16 psi and E85.. numbers=? 425ish whp

the rod ends on kl rods are larger then the boar of the k8 so they dont just drop in it takes some costum work and and unusaul way of putting it togethor to make it work.

if you put that kinf of $$ into it, may as well drop a KLZE in it.

With that kind of money invested in a K8 (which might be a little more than a KLZE), it probably wont have as much as power as the KLZE, infact, probably the same as the KLDE but it should be able to handle alot more power than a KLZE would be able to handle
Not only that, there wont be a need to buy hard to find imported ECUs

MX-3 w/ curved neck millenia klde, boosted @ 5 psi. /bov and wastegate are good!/ nitto drag radial/ gutted interior/ millenia red top injectors, vortech fmu/aem wideband/ all bolts ons/ Car put together 100% by me. Mechanic? who needs a mechanic? ew.. real men work on their own cars!

probably smog testing for emessions ?
