hi guys,
I was just wondering if it would be possible to swap a 1gen mx-6 into a '93 SE. Any hints and tips would be grateful. i know that the 2gen mx-6 engine fits but i am wondering about the 1gen. I have a 1gen and when i purchase a new car i would like to swap that engine into my x3.
Again thank you for any info.

Well, not as a bolt in, anything is doable with money, but it's gonna be a custom job. The problem is that those are F-Series engines and are not swappable with either B-Series or K-Series, you'd be better doing a B-Series swap, even tho your Mx-3 is a V6, the Mx-3's were at least B-Series-ready, and make it a hella lot easier and cheaper. Even then, unless you plan to up the boost, you'd be better off with a ZE swap, unless you want to get into an FE3T swap, those have alot of potential, but than again, so does a BPT, so it's your call, but more work than it's worth, IMO

Do a 2.5l V6 SWAP, its the cheapest and easiest.

thanks for the info. I thought about doing a ze swap and going all motor. I am also interested in the bpt swap but the electronics i think woud be a headache. i do know that our tranny and everything else bolts up but the ecu wiring would be the headache.
Alrite i think about this, agains thanks for the info.
