94-98 Swap question

Post by projectmx »

Has anyone with the 94-98 mx-3 dohc successfully done a bp / bpt swap yet? i'm very curious about the dificulty level and what all is needed for it cause i'm thinking about attempting this but i know it is supposedly harder to do this for the 94 and newer models than the older ones.

I am shooting for 180 - 200 hp with and still have a very reliable and long lasting car and engine. some day i may go higher but right now that is all i want.

I was actually wondering the same thing, and i did a bit of research. In my case anyway, its cheaper for me to just turbo the 1.6l. Mind you, I only want to get about 160whp.

I was also thinking about swaping but thought it would be a bit to much of a hassle since im not exactly equiped to do it :D

Is there any faq's or guides on turbo'ing a 1.6L Dohc?

Had my 96 rs for just over 4 years now, its been alot of fun stock but I want to start personalizing it and adding some "zoom zoom" to er ;)

Thx

There are no bolt-on kits for our cars, unless you count the stock 323 GTX turbos and such. There's some for the Miata B6 engine, but apparently the piping is different so we can't use it.
