Ck out pages H-4 (clutch troubleshooting), H-6 & H-7 (diagrams) of the online manual - link is on the MX-3.com homepage. Inspect the pedal assembly just underneath the pedal hinge/pivot point where there is a pushrod extending toward the firewall. Make sure the pushrod has free movement with no binding when pedal is depressed & released. On pg H-4 troubleshooting table, Mazda refers to it as the "pedal shaft" but the diagram label for the same part on H-7 appears to be "pushrod."

The clutch is not old, not that that matters since i busted a fork 6 months after bpt install. But i had this one put in by 'pros'. My engine head seems to have shift, and my brake pads are a little low but that is all i think is wrong with the car right now. If this is just a fluke then great. O and i did replace master cylinder a couple yrs ago.
