Sunroof leak problem

Hi guys.. this is my first post here.. nice to have found a mx3 forum on the net!!!
Ok.. i would like to know your comments about this problem i have now...
maybe a few of you had the same problem..
I have a BIG leak insime my car... passenger side and driver side... the dog sat on the rear gets wet too...
Today i decided to see where the problem came from.. and took off the inside roof cloth to see what was going on..
Ok... the problem is that the frame where the sunroof is mounted is completely rust, so any water that should drain by any of the 4 corner small hoses, is going down straight to the seats...
today i called Mazda and gess what...
that frame is 500 and something dollars and i don't want to spend that much in it..
Tomorrow i will be going to junk yards to see if i can find any...
I also thought about fixin it with fiberglass but it is so rusted that i don't know if i will be such a good artist with the fiberglass cloth to make it right..
Later, once that is fix.... i would have to replace the sunroof trim rubber... so water will not get in again and rust the new frame....
but the trim is like 140 dollars ...
have any of you deal with this problem?... any recomendations or comments are very welcome...
the parts numbers are these:
The metal frame: EA0569840
Trim: FB0369895C
Ok...
good luck guys... and thanks..
Axel
