E-Spec Mirrors

Post by Gro Harlem »

I installed my E-Spec glass when I painted the mirrors this weekend. They rule.

They only included the glass peice itself, not the black plastic surround. I got some spare plastic surround peices from the junkyard before installin em.

The passenger side one is the same convexity as the stock one, but it doesn't say "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear"

The drivers-side, however, is much different. THe glass lets you see way more stuff at once. It is 40% more convex than the stock flat glass.

HEre is a pic showing the differences. Note how the top glass is the stock one and is held slightly closer. It is pressing up against the mirror housing in the pic.

Note how the cars in the bottom mirro appear smaller & u can see more of the parking lot than the top mirror.

I can actually get more of these. I got them from a dealership in germany. they werne't too much money. Each glass mirror panel cost me $33.13 plus shipping which wasn't bad at all b/c of their size.

Let me know if there is interest, I could hold a GB for these if there is.

I doubt ppl would want to buy the passenger mirror since it is basically the same, but i could if you wanted. The drivers mirror is what makes a huge diff tho.

That's pretty neat. Are they difficult to install? I may be interested.

nope, not hard to use your existing one. you might break your stock glass removing it though as it is tricky. Poppin the plastic out of the mirror isn't too hard, prying w/a screwdriver on the bottom is definitely a good idea & also heating it up w/a blow dryer prior to trying to remove it helps b/c there is a double-sticky tape thing holding it onto the motorized part

I pay 33.13 from mazda direct. Then i'll need to pay sales tax & shipping from their factory which won't be too much but if I sell these they won't be "33 shipped". probably closer to 40 shipped from me since shipping would cost $4 via priority mail.
