i just got my turbo on my 1.6 dohc and after i got my whole exhaust on there an everything i managed to get upto 9lbs of boost out of w/o any real bogging or nething and im running on (as far as i know) are stock injectors. from everything ive been reading it sounded like they shouldnt be able to handle anything near that. is it just that the injectors are maxed out an giving it just enough to get by...or where they swtiched before i bought it? (Just to clarify im using a vortech 12:1 fmu)

I ran on stock injectors last year at 9 psi. I had problems with it not getting enough gas after running at boost for a little bit. The car would actually shut off.

hmm..well i havent driven it around for prolonged periods of time underboost (tryin to conserve my stock clutch till i get the new one) so thats probably why i hadnt had a problem with it yet. thx for the info :D

The FMU is the only reason your not haveing problems so far. Make sure your listening for detination and checking your spark plugs for the signs. The stock fuel injects w/ the factory FPR would be leaning out and detonating under boost. The Vortech 12:1 FMU is rasing your fuel pressure 12psi for every pound of boost you run. that means if your base fuel pressure is 45psi, then at 9psi of boost your fuel pressure is trying to raise to 108psi. Also be leary of your fuel components burst strenght. I wouldn't reccomend turning the boost up any more with that setup. What you need is a bigger set of injectors w/ a APEXi Super-AFC and a 1:1 Fuel Pressure Regulator inplace of the VORTECH. Also go to the Wahlbro 255 fuel pump if you haven't already.
