will a tranny out of my DOHC 1.6 fit a 92 protage 1.8 motor?

i have a friend who is doing the swap for me and he said that it should all bolt up fine cause he's done swaps on these cars before..but i though i would check just to be sure!!
buying modded cars is like dating a pregnant woman...somone else already had the fun!

Yes it should. You'll have to use your 1.6L clutch and flywheel though.

if you plan on using boost you will need the protege LX tranny and driveshafts.

Not necesarily he said it was a '92 Protege and he is from Canada. All Protege's sold in Canada including the LX had the 1.8L SOHC. Only the '90-'91 323/ Protege GT had the 1.8L DOHC. Even after '95 all the 1.8 and 2.0L Protege's up to '03 used the same tranny, clutch and flywheel as the B-6 MX-3s.
