I can't remember where I picked them up, I was in such a hurry to get them back to the guy working on my body kit that I grabbed the first ones I saw :D

They cost me $300 Canadian.

If you are looking to do a serious upgrade to your lighting and are willing to go to the extent of modifying your cars body and frame parts to do it then perhaps you may want to consider an alternative route.
1. If you're going to install civic light units then you're not making much of an improvement to factory lighting.
2. The time and expense in modifying existing frame and body parts IMO isn't warranted due to point 1.
3. As with such afficianado's like Sam Baker, Taras and other's. These people are extremely well versed in the intricacies of optics and illumination. The links in threads that they have provided are just oozing with all sorts of technical data as to lighting characteristics, purposes and applications. It will enlighten you to a point that once you're aware, when the subject of civic headlight install comes up, you'll say, "what were you thinkin".
4. IMO, the best and most appealing is the headlight system that looks like it was meant to be there. Having said that, a modification of our own headlight shell would be in keeping with that premise.
5. The new sticky provided by Taras, is a stepping stone in the right direction.
6. Our shells with the right selection of zenon projectors will rival almost all production based high end cars (Mercedes, Audi, Acura, BMW, Lexus, Infinity etc). It's all a question of how much time and effort your willing to put towards such an endaevour, and of course, how much you're willing to spend. The amount of time, effort, work and cost required to modify our own headlight shells will be less than a civic conversion. The only caveat in all of this, is how much you're willing to spend on the projector units. After all, we were looking to improve our illumination situation in the first place, why not spend the majority of the cost on where it matters - the projector units themselves.
7. Be informed and make a better decision, FWIW.

With that said,
Does anyone have any pics of Mx3s with different headlights other than the 01-03 Civic projectors and stock lights?

Find the threads in this forum that have been posted by people like eugene, Taras, Grants, Sam Baker, just to name a few off the top of my head. In those threads will be attached pics of various applications.
Here's a few to get you started:

Heres a company that sells them... I haven't seen a bad product from them yet. http://www.tommotorsport.com/shop/?page ... 913f76b6ac They're starting at $129US for the 01-03 projectors. Is that they year people are using for their swaps?

I like the civic headlight, they may only be a little better lighting then stock but they look a helluva lot better then the yellow lenses we have. Once their fit in, they dont look like civic headlights they just look like aftermarket mx3 headlights like their meant to be there.

Maz, that's my whole point. If it's a yellow issue that that's a simple matter of cleaning the outside lenses. Civic projector conversions as a fix for yellow lense covers seems a bit excessive. Converting our shells will elliminate any body, frame and paint reworking and will still be adjustable. Those that have done the research will know the merits in such a conversion of our shells and will realize the folly of civic conversions. Why spend all of that effort, time and money to get a moderate improvement when it would be less, effort, time and money to modify our own to get what I consider the "Cadillac" of lighting systems. I guess I just don't seem to see the motivation behind those bent on putting civic lights in our cars. Perhaps there is something glaringly obvious that I've overlooked here. Please step up and clue me in.

I dont know man, no matter how much i polish my headlights, they still look like crap. The civic ones look much cleaner and more modern, plus they do give better lighting.Lets get a first hand opinion from the people who have them; was it worth it?

JS, my thinking on the conversion is this: I feel a lot more confident in my ability to slowly cut away at the frame till my civic projectors fit than custom modding my stock unit. Molding a mounting frame and properly fitting the lighting units intimidates me.

Ya, I hear you and I understand and the truth be told, I thought exactly the same as you some time ago. I think I've learned to put aside some of my self doubt when I gradually learned more about the process and the benefits that lie within. Your perspective and point of view are completely understandable and I have no wish to demean that. I just hope that when those that do decide to go the civic light route that they don't get too disappointed at the end result, illumination wise. I guess it could come down to what an individual wants. In my case I want some outstanding illumination that's not going to be ancient technology the day after the install. I want more than better than average lighting. I know how to get that. I believe that I know how to do that. I'm willing to take the time and effort necessary to produce what one might say looks like an oem produced product. I'm willing to pay for those needs because I know that I'll have the best lighting apparatus possible. Would I have this same need or desire if I live and drive only in the city, probably not. I imagine a combination of one's wants vs needs would be the deciding factor. I wonder if a seperate thread where individuals could share their indivdual light projects would be a good idea...you think.. since I've done a masterful job at jacking this thread.
Juan, my appologies for jackin' your thread bud!

I like the look of the civic lights. Why is it such a big deal to you? Oh, never mind...people buying them aren't buying yours.

Huummm... Weight the pros & cons

PROs
I've polished my lights before I did the swap, and the swap was still 10 times better lighting than the polished stock lights.

Everyone that has seen my lights don't realize that they weren't made for my car, I have to actually tell that that they came from another car.

Cutting the sheet metal is not as bad as you'd think, nothing detramental to the car's ingerity is harmed.

CONs
This is pemenet (But then again so is my molded body kit now)

High likley-hood if you don't know what your doing, you could mess somthing up. (not really a factor for me)

The pros out weight the cons for me, it easy, looks good, and now I don't have to drive around all the time with my brights on still not being able to see. I live deep in the woods down a dark dirt road, and have hadmany animals jump out in front to include some very large deers. Don't knock it till you've actually driven a projector powered MX3 at night in rain or fog..... I can Actually see, and you don't know how bad (the original light are) is untill you actually do it.

BTW the least inexpensive set is the Tomsmotorsport's @ $129usd shipped
