WTF codes 16,17,24 and 69

Post by Pedro_mx3 »

hi guys, went to a meet on sunday an 1 of the guys brought a mazda diagnostic box, my car threw 16,17,24 and 69. 69 is no prob cause the wiring conector from my fan was disconnected when mazda did timing belt so that code is irrelivant, jus needs clearing cause fan works ETC, ive looked up 17 an 24 (left an Right O2 inversion errors) but what actually are the O2 sensors an what probs should i encounter cause i have no idle issues, no loss of power or anything, fuel consumption isnt too rude but could be better.

What is code 16? never met this 1

do my O2's need replacing right away? are they urgent? an to the UK guys where would i get some reasonably priced?

cheers

You can still drive your car, though you may notice the car is sluggish after awhile. And you might fail an emissions test, but im not sure. I wouldn't say it is anything that needs to be done immediatly but get it done sooner rather than later, as it may effect your fuel economy.

Universal O2 sensors (4-wire)

http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/lambda_sensors.php

You've got to use the connectors off your old ones. Just crimp them on to the new sensors. The wire colours differ between the Uni sensors and your originals.

I think this it what they are:

Uni Wire Colour----Connection----Original Wire Colour

Black-----------------Signal------------------Blue
Grey------------------Earth------------------White
White----------------Heater-----------------Black
White----------------Heater-----------------Black

Hope that is of some help.......
