DONT EVER GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
I took my MX-3 in there for a timing belt change and service and it has been an absolute nightmare, i pick the car up tomorrow and im making a formal complaint to the management of Wrights Mazda
I took my car in for the service and belt change (£510) quite happy with that price considering its 5 hours labour to do the cambelt one of my tensioners was squealing so i asked them to take a look at that too.
I got a phone call from mazda later on in the day which i was expecting to say the price of said tensioner ETC. The call began "Mr Smith you might want to sit down"
It turns out my crankshaft pulley had sheared itself into 2 and was siezed onto the crank, the old cambelt was off and the only way to continue was to break the old one off and replace it. The cost of the part was £210 (yes £210!!) and £14 for the bolt (takin' the piss?)
So pissed of as i was i agreed, err yeah, like i had a choice now anyway, so the work was done and i went to pick the car up when i was told too.
CHAPTER 2 (boredom set in yet?)
I spoke to the woman on the service desk and she told me my car wasnt ready, the work has been completed but the engine has developed a noise and she doesnt feel that the vehicle is safe to allow onto the road (OH f*ck!!!!!!!!!) my first impressions were that they have fucked my crank bearings so im at home in a stupor on autotrader looking for a new car expecting my engine to be ever so slightly toasted!
CHAPTER 3 (nope im not takin' the piss! )
Got a phone call the next morning to say that it wasnt a noise from the engine but my brakes needed re-aligning so i was upset an had no sleep because the stupid b---- took a guess!!! so they said come pick the car up, i went to get it, engine sounded sweet! REALLY SWEET!! but there was a new noise, my mum and the mechanic couldnt hear it but i KNOW my engine, he had a look an found it to be the timing belt cover rubbing on the cambelt so he said no problem ill reshape it an refit it in the morning, no problem...
CHAPTER 4 (The End is Near)
Got a message today with a bill of 75quid to fix the problem, by now i was extremely pissed so i unleashed hell!! an 75 quid was only the labour!! try 235quid with the tensioner that they reckon needed replacing changed!
So i said f*ck it put it back together ill take it away an sort it myself, so they billed me for 127quid labour to put it back together!
By now i was in an insensible rage so mum stepped in, gave them a technical ear bashing and threatened them with watchdog and a complaint to Mazda UK an a phonecall back in under 30seconds said they would waive the labour costs (amazing what threats can do) so for a grand total of 935quid i have everything sorted apart from my brakelines which are corroded (they politely informed me)
They do not disclose any information to you, i was lied to several times and felt fairly cheated, the mechanical work is 110%. but the staff suck, this could have been so much easier. For that price i could have had my KL-ZE and fitted it but i just cant afford the resources to install it right now so dont ear bash me an tell me i should!

i never disputed the prices of the parts, they never disclosed any information to me, they phoned my mum asking me if i wanted the work done, it would cost 75 quid, when i phoned them back it was 230+, they were just trying to get more money out of me!
They did the work labour free in the end an what makes me laugh even more is they quoted me 127.64 for the tensioner and £14 for the bolt but when i picked it up it was the 79quid idler they'd changed! there was absolutely no communication, ive got my car back and it drives perfectly so i cant complain there. They just need to learn to talk to people!
Do you have the EPC 2 then ian? i have it but never used it

Yes, I have. It took a little time to find my way around it, but I find it quite good now.Pedro_mx3 wrote:Do you have the EPC 2 then ian? i have it but never used it
Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!
