i got a hi flo cat and a new muffler sitting in my room...i want to get 2.25" pipes and delete the resonator. however i dont just want a cat back system, i want to go all the way back to the first cat...when i do this, should i keep the first cat, delete the first cat, or replace it with another hiflo cat equaling 2 hiflo cats total in my exhaust system? what has everyone else done who did more than just a cat back system?

no the 1.6 dohc actually has 2...there is one near the exhaust manifold and one in the middle of the exhaust system. the 1st one is for better cold starts.

burn (... "like Usher guuurl!") as in it seems like you dont care what joey's mx said. get rid of both cats (if thats the case), run piping as far up in the system as you can. Place the highflow cat relatively close to the motor because the hotter the cat gets the better it flows. and if need be add an o2 sensor bung after the cat, but i think your seeing a resonator, not a second cat.
This is a good example (CJTHOR i hope you dont mind):

What i did is take out the first cat and put a high flow cat were the scond cat goes....sounds nice..depends on what muffler/exhaust you go with is were you really get the sound!!

am i crazy? i do believe there is a cat on the 95 1.6 dohc set vertically coming right out of the exhaust manifold? yes or no? if not then what is it? i heard it was a cat and it is there for better cold starts. can i get rid of it? should i get rid of it? has anyone else?

Yes there is a cat there..better for cold starts.....yes you can get rid of it....if looking for performance get rid of the first cat and put a high flow catat the second cat..for emissions/if you dont care about passing emissions get rid of both cats!!

Yup, it's there for cold start emissions only and chokes the exhaust quite a bit. I would say go for the Genie header, high flow cat, and a resonator for noise...

is there any where to get a hi flo resonator? is there such thing as a hi flo resonator? i wouldnt want to get a new exhaust made and then slap on the stock resonator.

so, when I move to florida where there is no inspections I can remove my cat? Will this cause any driveability issues?
