remove Y pipe to pull engine...

Post by JWMX3 »

It is necessary to remove the y pipe at the cat and take it right out in order to remove the engine ? I just have it disconnected at the headers at would just like to leave it if i can because the 2 bolts on the cat are damn tight and i dont have a compressor yet, unfortunatly :(

you could pull it out but it would be much easier to take it off...I took the 2 bolts off the cat with an electric impact..borrow one from a friend for 5 min. and take those out

just undo the y pipe from the headers and you will be fine.

Are you pulling the motor up and out of the engine bay or are you dropping it thought the engine bay. If you going out the top the y pipe will not get in the way no need to go to the trouble and taking it off. If you dropping the motor out then yes it has to come off.
