Engine Misfires after a hard WOT

I've been having this problem lately, and I get the same results when I do this every time. However, I'm stumped as to why it's doing it , or even what I need to start looking at.
'93 Mazda MX3 RS
1.6L 16-valve SOHC
New Air filter, oil filter
New plugs, wires, distributor rotor&cap
Premium fuel
It seems that when I'm on the road, and get the urge to floor the accelerator for an extended period of time (at the very least, let it switch gears at WOT), the engine starts misfiring when the new gear is switched and the RPM's go down.
No matter what my speed, no matter what I do afterwards has any immediate results(Rev engine, let engine idle, put in neutral) The mis-fire stays apparent until I let off of the accelerator and let the motor idle for a couple of minutes.
The mis-fire has always been reproduceable, however, by the time I get stopped, the mis-fire has gone away.
