even though the list doen't say specificaly that an RS will fit the GS model, I'm going to go with yes. If you don't already have the struts then for the best price, not necessarily quality, search for the escort struts. I just purchased struts for my GS for $39.98 each. They were not listed under the MX-3 but under the escort.

Yes you can use them but the rs struts do not have the bracket for the ABS which our GS model has.

Find an oline parts store & compare the part #'s to see if they are the same.

I know the 90-94 protege & GS mx-3 have the same part #'s

Not all GS models have ABS.

Your best bet is probably the ford ZX2 struts. For $150 a set you can't beat them.

Do you have to lower your car for the ZX2 struts, or are stock springs Kosher?

Whare are the best kind of struts for a softer ride? I know that it will take away from my performance alittle bit but i am not to worried about that i just want a soft ride.

this goes to ricksmx3, if you haven't already, you can play with the air pressure in your tires to adjust the ride firmness. I'm not sure how well it will work with those aftermarket tires you have but I do know that with my stock size tires mid 20's equals softer ride mid thirties and the ride is firmer and at 40 it feel like flinstones car. Keep in mind that this also effects the tires life.

solo_ryder: If the bracket is removable I don't see why not.
