You will use whatever axles to match the tranny you are using.

There are quite a few diffrent versoins of the BP that is one of them :) The biggest incentirve for J-spec BP's is the lower milage, they are not much in the way of diffrent.

Does that look like the miata BP?? I kinda does, if it is you are gonna need to replace like the oil pan and a couple other things (tps and whatnot).

definatly not a miata BP cause of the placement of the intake Manifold, and it has a distributor.

like everyone said the axels you use depend on the trans you use.

Ya. I just remember thinking that when a guy on the clubprotege.com forum got an engine from this guy and it was a Miata BP (not the one in the picture). So he was mad. The guy did send him a new one.

Some good info;
"
The Protege LX, Escort GT & LX-E and Tracer LTS all have G-series transmissions. These transmissions are used in numerous Mazdas including all 2.0 4-cylinder & 2.5 V6 MX-3, MX-6, 626, Ford Probe and 01+ Protege's. They have been known to hold up to over 300hp and ft-lbs of torque when not abused. They use 24mm axles and utilize an intermediate shaft to reduce torque steer when accelerating off the line. All G-series transmission have either a 4.11 or 4.39 final drive ratio and short gear ratios for quicker acceleration at the expense of fuel economy."
