I must give a shout out to the webmaster of the website...These forums look incrediable, the PERFECT CHANGE for the new year.

I got a couple comments about perfecting the forums and tweeking the system better.

1. There is a content management system similiar to mine at kingmx.net that make it fairly easy to integrate the forums to have a "how to" or "DIY" section. It would make the forums and the site complete!

2. The secound thing is i know how ugly the programming and time consuming it would be, but creating a custom forum design would put the cherry on top....i'd help...*SHRUG*

Keep up the great* work

Thanks for the comments, I took this forum design from a site that offers free designs for people to use. I liked the look of it, in its original form which was a light blue on black.

I thought it would look even better with the dark red accent colours in plce of the light blue.

If you are familiar with phpbb Styles, and have one that you would like me to try on this forum, send it to me and I will see if it is worth adding. Problem is, any mods I do to the forums will not be included in your new design, which in turn means I have to redo themods again every time I add a new design. Not a very good thing when time is at a premium.

If you can send me more info on this DIY module, I'd like to look it over.

Regards,

I've got two recommendations, one i'm not sure about.

First: Increase posts/per page. I think 15 is too short sometimes. 20 or even 25 might be nice.

Second: A quick-reply box. I am not sure if this is a plugin or not, but I have seen this on several other forums. It's a simple box below the forum thread that shows up if you're logged in. I really love it so you don't have to go to a whole new page when all you want to type in is a short sentence. Great for the general topic threads with short conversations.

more than 15 will make it load slower, but i totally agree with the quick reply.

also, look in the FAQ... a lot of David Colemans posts are %&#$ed... They are filled with HTML code and it is impossible to read (without getting a headache).

I've seen some simpler ones yet, but that's along the lines of what I think would be great.

Can you make the main logo at the top link back to the main forum page? To me the red font colour seems hard to read (i might be crazy :?), maybe a diff. font or shade of red.

But other then that, wow nice change and clean looking! props 8)

I'm still looking into the Quick Reply MOD. Haven't decided which one I will use yet.

As for the link on the Forum Header Image, I've added it for you. It brings you back to: http://www.mx-3.com/phpbb2/index.php .

Thanks for the complimentson the new forums! :!: :!: :!:

I've fixed the most of the FAQ Forum posts that were showing raw HTML code.

I still have to finish the two main FAQ Forums though, V6 and 4-Cyl. They are the most lengthy and time consuming.

If there is one in particular that you want cleaned up, please send me a link to it, and I will do my best to get it done sooner.
