this stinks........

Okay, the backlighting to my ac/heating cluster doesn't work. This means if i ever wanna change the temperature to the airflow, change the amount of airflow, change area of airflow, or change the source of airflow and it happens to be nighttime, i have to turn on my maplight just to see what i'm doing and which switch i'm moving. It worked fine since i got the car, and then all the sudden i was driving at night one time and i noticed that there was no more backlighting there. :( So anyway, i'm in the process of painting plastic interior parts anyway, so the whole center section of my interior is ripped out. So i looked back there to see what the deal was. Man alive, it looks like rocket science just to be able to get into the little cluster to replace/repair whatever is wrong. Think about it, you have to remove each of the switches before you can even get to it. And from the looks of it, this DOES NOT look easy at all. I can see myself spending an hour figuring out how to take it apart just to get access to the thing. So my question is, has this happened to anyone else, and if so, what'd you do about it? Am i making a big deal about nothing and is this really easy if you know some kind of trick to get these switches off? If this isn't easy to fix, i guess i'm just gonna have to go another route, and probably use something like those stupid little clip-on "mood" neon lights in order to illuminate the area so that i can see it at night w/o my maplight. Thanks a lot guys for your input.

P.S. nothing wrong w/ any fuses.

Theer is only one bulb to replace. It sits in the receptacle at the end of the assembly. Once you take all the trim off you will see. A pretty easy fix. Now, this is only for a 92-93 slider style switches.

Hey DJPRO could you take a pic of the ac/heat panel during the day, I wanna see how the white looks against the back trim.

I just happen to have a picture of mine, taken with a flash. It wasn't daytime, but you can see how it looks with everything else:
