clearing headlights using clear coat?

Post by grubner »

has anybody thought of spraying clear coat on the lens of the headlight?
i have done this on my mx3 and i havnt had to clean them for 3months as they plastic doesnt oxidise.
what i did was used something to clean the lens with turps, then lightly sanded the lens. wiped with a wet cloth. then when dry i clear coated the light with about 3 or 4 coats of clear coat

The ideas have been floating about....another way is to get UV proof clear coat (most likely from marine shops) so the plastic doesn't turn yellow as far.
