quick quesiton about cluster lighting

i just installed my glow guages, but the needles does not seem to be lighting up anymore, does it even suppose to light up? or did i screw something up?? a bolt is burned?

It's easy to overlook the fact that the needles don't light up with the factory gauge face, because they're so visible from the stock lighting. But when they're against the bright indiglo lighting, they are quite dark. I thought about painting them with some kind of luminescent red paint, but I think they would still look dark at night. BUT, they would look very cool during the day against my white faces.
