Does anyone know if anyplace makes glass headlights for our domestic mx-3's I heard that in europe they came with them stock, and maybe it would solve the plastic hase problem.

Re: Glass headlights?
I see why you want glass headlights. They do crack easier from flying debree though. As an alternative you could polish your lenses the best you ever did or even wet sand them with 1000/1500/2000 grit papers and then apply clear headlight protection film from www.xpel.com
Good luck

Re: Glass headlights?
the e-spec headlights are glass. From what i've researched, all of the Japanese headlights are plexi like our crappy headlights. I don't know about the phillipine, aus/NZ or any other austro-asian markets though.
I have a set of especs...very hard to get, and pretty expensive. I paid $180 shipped for a pair of used ones from germany.

In europe mx-3 models are glass headlights. Its really nice looking, my left headlight is from the glass
my right was robbed, so i bought the headlihgt like in usa, its more cheaper.
The second hand glass headlight in my country cost about 300$, and the new one about 950$

Re: Glass headlights?
Hey im from Denmark and im quite sure my headlights are made of glass allthough i never tryed tapping it to hear the revealing sound of glass...
But my car is 12 year's old now and still with krystalclear headlights,so i guess all of your problems with the lights come from plasticlens mattening in the sun over years..
If someone would be interrested i could call mazda and hear what new-ones would cost

Re: Glass headlights?
wow didn't know you guys were flip. hello my fellow flips.
but no they didn't sell mx-3s in PI. there are a lot of rich ppl there that compete and import cars into PI, but most of them consist of skylines, ferraris, lambos, porsches, a few nsx's, and i also saw a few of the older evos that they never sold in PI. i know they sold the evo 5 and 6 there tho.

Re: Glass headlights?
Dennis,
I, for one, would be very interested in finding out how much they would cost, because even with lenses in perfect condition, the North American spec lamps are JUNK. Poorest lighting of any car I've owned...

Re: Glass headlights?
I have the Glass headlights, but they are not as bright as you would think. Most newer cars on the road still have brighter beams.
I have been asking around for some prices of these things, so far Iv been told about £200 thats about $370 USD or $495 CAD. Which I think is pretty much a balls abount. So Im going out today to get some more prices on these things.
Ill keep you posted.

Re: Glass headlights?
Hey JP i think its because of the plastic lenses,i have driven many cars that had worse lights than the MX-3 "not saying that theyre super"
Would you like a whole headlight or just the lens if its posible?
And what year is your car if theres any diffrence in that

Re: Glass headlights?
You guys can't just swap E-spec glass lenses onto our North American lights. You need the whole optics, meaning the whole headlight. There is no year to year variation.Originally posted by Dennis Jørgensen:
