Just installed altezzas, right away everyone is telling me that I have to change the clear bulb for the turn signals, to an orange bulb. Is this true? Are the clear bulbs illegal in the altezzas? Do I need the orange ones?? What about back up lights?

Yes yes and yes, It sure is illegal in PA and probably every other state too, just stick some orange bulbs in there and you should be ok. I've had the clear side markers and turn signals with orange bulbs for about 4 years now without any trouble.

What if they are clear (platinum) bulbs but flash orange so you do not have the orange glare...

There are a few manufacturers who make bulbs like that. Sylvania makes some under the Silverstar brand. APC might make some too, but I don't think I'd try them. I'm pretty sure Polarg and Raybrig make some as well, though I haven't had any experience with them.
