Has anybody tried those new Sylvania Silverstar headlights. I've heard good things about them and the coating on the bulb in really trippy looking. Any thoughts, let me know.

I'd say they aren't worth it, BECAUSE of the coating.

i bought the piaa super white bulbs for like 70 bucks!! and i found that the cheaper sylvania models are far better, what they say is true, they are a much brighter, whiter light. i can see so much more with them. i am very impressed.

So I was at my local speedshop today looking at headlights, and the guy shows me these Nokya Arctic White lights. They're 80w/100w, rated at 4100K, and were cheaper than the Silverstars. Now, I don't know what the Silverstars are like, but the bulbs I bought today are the sauce. They've got this cool blue glow about them and give off a really crisp white beam, not your typical yellowish beam. I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for really bright, clear headlight bulbs. Thanks anyway for all your opinions. Cheers.

Man, if they are truly rated at 80/100W, then you do not want them in your headlights. Plastic melts with heat, even polycarbonate. Your wiring is not designed for such high draw. One word. Risk of FIRE.

silver star bulbs are the best direct replacement DOT legal buld you can buy period.

there is nothing better. If you have to re-read my post.

silver star bulbs are the best "DIRECT REPLACEMENT" "DOT LEGAL" bulb you can buy period.

I disagree.

I'd rather have just normal no coating halogen bulbs.

They'd perform better, and they'd produce a more natural light.

Unless you can get ECE Silverstar bulbs (Which I think are made my Osram) then they're not worth it. The European ones do not have a coating, and I'd agree that they're pretty good for a halogen bulb.

so you are saying that osrame 9004 halogen bulbs put out a better, cleaner, whiter light, brighter light than osrame SILVERSTAR 9004 halogen bulbs?????

Is this what you are stating for the record????

you are stating for the world to see that osrame decided to produce a dimmer, yellower, less natural 9004 halogen headlamp bulb and call it SILVERSTAR , charge $25.00 per bulb and it is actually worse that a 9004 osrame regular halogen bulb????

Please explaine? can you back up this statement????

thanks.
