Passenger side brake light is out.

Running lights work fine but one of the bulbs on the passenger side that is supposed to light up(furthest bulb to the middle of car) is not lighting up when I hit the brakes. All others work fine and this particular bulb lights up when lights are on just doesen't brighten up when I hit the brakes. Do I need a new bulb or is there more to this problem?
