guage lights

hey i was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with hooking up guage lights(boost + EGT) to the dimmer. like burning it out or anything like that. thanks for the help.

ok i hooked my 2 autometer guages up to the dimmer. on my car i could not get the dimmer to dim the guages. there are 3 wires... red, red/black, and black. black doesn't work since it is the ground, red/black keeps the guages at a constant level, and the red one dims the autometer guages OPPOSITE of the guage cluster (when cluster dims, autometers get brighter). so anyway i just hooked it up to the red/black wire and left it.
