it can be done, im going the research now for the swap as babyblue is right no ones done it, i plan on purchasing the motor near january, my only to main concerns are:

1: the Miller Cycle motor has a dual compression ratio 1 of 10:1 and 8:2, how you ask? well the valves train is alot different than any normal piston motor, instead of running as your typical motor runs the valves stay open longer (20 degrees i beleive) this gives the motor a lower compression and more economic gas miledge. now what makes this an issue is because all millenia S were automatic, swapping it into an manual mx3 may be a problem. Technically automatics have 2 types of ecu one for the motor another for the tranny and they communicate between each other, so im not sure if the actual changing of compression ratio would be effected by not have the automatic ecu.

2. ecu/guages wiring harness is different than the mx3s so will your guages hook up correctly? If not gonna have to look into aftermarket guages for speedometer, rpms, gas, and temperature.

3. Hood wont close :( well a temporary solution for this is simple, get you some washers and raise the back of the hood up (toward the windshield) wont look pritty but it will work, im doing an old style rocker hood (what you typically see on the box version of the 5.0 stangs) cut and molded to the mx3s curve line, not to mention custom vents in the top of it to feed the twin intercoolers that are on top with air.

thats all the issues ive ran into so far ill know more as the motor gets closer to being isntalled.

ya, on the exhaust stroke, the compression is lower b/c the valve actually stays open during the compression stroke for a few degree's.

The Millenia S motor is pretty damn big..it wouldn't fit in an mx3 if hell froze over. it has dual intercoolers & two intake manifolds, not to mention the supercharger in the middle. it wouldn't clear our hood or firewall.

That may be true that it wont fit.... But somebodys got to attempt it sooner or later right ? even if they do fail... Mnemonic your the man! good luck , it would be cool to have the only mx3 with a KJ

we have ways to make it fit ::evil grinz::
and i have seen the kj sitting right beside a klze and really its not the width of the motor thats the problem its the height. im not saying its not gonna be the tightest fit ever, but i believe it will fit

what about using the supercharger from a millenia? would that be do-able?

the only motor that can use the kj's supercharger is the Kj due to how the motor is setup
