Well, first I'd like to say Hi to everyone on the boards and all the fellow MX3 owners (new to the scene, love my MX3). I'm new

Now on to my question. I've never really attempted anything like this before and I would like to know what I would need or if I should even attempt it?

I'm a bit bored with my wimpy 4cyl auto and I'd like to swap the engine with a KLZE as well as swap the tranny to a manual.

Since I really have no experience when it comes to in-depth mechanics like this, I was wondering if it would be wise to just buy a new manual car and just swap the engine into that.

How much would doing the former cost? Just scouring for parts and having a shop do it? Average USD price?

Other than that, it'd be nice if anyone had some tips or suggestions about this subject. Thanks.

Well, i'm not going to say I have experience with swapping, because I never done it, and don't plan to (if I want to go fast, Ill buy a motorcycle). However, reading that you have little mechanical experience, I would be strongly advise not doing a KL-ZE swap. The engine bay is completely differen't from 4cyl to 6cyl, thus creating a lot of costum work. If you want a KLZE mx, then buy a GS and swap it. Otherwise, keep the 4cyl and swap a BPT in it. In any case, if you go through the trouble of an engine swap, the tansmision conversion shouldn't be very hard...just extra money to buy the tranny.
