I have a 95 gs and im wanting to put a moonroof in it. If i got the moonroof assembly and all hardware from another mx3, how much do you think it would cost me to have installed?
Just trying to get an idea if it would be worth my while.

IMO...dont do it. Use your money of something else because sooner or later...the moonroof won't be able to close. Only go foward and backwards..i paid 50 bucks just for it to close and now i dont ever touch those buttons again.

if a sun/moonroof doesnt come on the vehicle from the factory, it should stay that way. it always leads to leaks in about 2 years down the road.

CrazieMx theres info right here on the bord how to fix that, you just have to search...

And you can do it yourself too with a little to no expenses ;)

I think the MX-3 looks sweet with the sunroof just opened

Nope just search for it,Back when i started here on the forum someone asked "i had just fixed mine a not so many months ago at that time" so i explained step by step what needs to be done...

I actually think it was one of my very first posts on here :D

And if im not mistaking its been around a year and a half since i fixed my sunroof with no issues since ;)

Only thing though, dont get your fingers in the way when closing it afterthe fix..Its a strong motor

My sunroof was put in aftermarket by the first owner sometime in 92-93. I have it now in 2004 and it doesn't leak, doesn't rust.

Granted the motor doesn't work anymore and the thing won't slide, but still looks great. Plus it gives a more open ****pit feel to driving.

So if I'm buying an MX-3 with a sunroof, is there any way of knowing whether it came that was or if it was installed after? And by any way, I mean other than asking the salesman :) Thanks

Note that there are 2 terms being thrown around here, sunroof and moonroof.

moonroof = see-through, normally glass, can open (some don't)
sunroof = solid metal, that opens.

or is that the other way around

It would be cool to convert my sunroof in my MX-3 to a moonroof.

Right you are RoundTop, this link gives an explanation of the difference. http://ask.yahoo.com/ask/20030617.html I can't vouch for it's voracity, but I think it's accurate.

And as a shameless plug, here's an MX-3 with a moon roof.
