What year Protoge? Srry, don't recall them by HP marks anymore.

Then no, it won't bolt up, heh.. Only trannies you're gonna have a chance with are on older protoge's, escorts, MX6's, PGT's etc. (that's on an American market anyways) It is said that the 4cyl MX3 ATX and the 6cyl one are both the same tranny - will bolt up to either, which would mean you should be able to get a tranny from a like-yeared vehical that shares that tranny line, but no new stuff will fit. Sorry. Also, there were some posts on the new ATX's Mazda is using, and how they're worse than the old ones, lol. You're prolly better off with whatcha got. :(

The new Proteges come with a "sportronic" tranny, at least the 1.8L and 2.0L does. I highly doubt they'll bolt to the MX-3 motor. :shrug:
